Arrived in Astana, Kazakhstan around 5:00 in the morning. We were greeted by Tatyana saying "Amy, stay here with luggage and Thomas come with me to buy airplane tickets". We had no idea what was happening. We were so exhausted from the trip that we just did it without question. Come to find out, they wanted us to fly to Semey, Kaz, but there were no flights until Sunday! So we stayed at The Hotel Grand Park Esil in Astana for the next 48 hours. The first day was much of a blur as we were jet lagged. We met Tatyana in the hotel lobbly at noon for further instructions and lunch. Afterwards we walked across the street to a local shopping center. We found a little pizza place and enjoyed some pizza.
