I talked with our agency today and was able to get some information from her as how the whole process works. Basically when CCAA releases a batch of referrals, the "approved" agencies in the USA and other countries use their key codes to get into the web site. All of these agencies are looking at the same referrals. Our agency has a board with all the families information. This month they were trying to place only 6 families so they thought it was going to be a breeze. She said it was the craziest night! CCAA released mostly boys and the few girls that were available had severe special needs. Unfortunately, no families received sn referrals from our agency this month. She did explain to me that sometimes when an agency "locks in" a referral for a family, the family may turn the referral down for whatever reason. Then that referral goes back out for all agencies to look at again. So the agency keeps a close eye on the list from CCAA for about 48 hours after the initial batch release. I know in my heart that our daughter is in China, she just is not ready yet. So we will wait as long as it takes for her.
If you have not had a chance yet, please go on www.thestarfishfosterhome.org. My heart has had a tug on the particular foster home every since I came across it about a month ago. Wouldn't that be awesome if that is where our daughter is! It's in God's hands.
